Mission
Yaqumo is seeking a researcher with a background in quantum error correction, able to perform numerical simulations for analysing and evaluating the performance of schemes for fault-tolerance on neutral atom quantum computers. The potential of quantum computers relies upon large-scale fault-tolerant devices and this role will focus on evaluating fault-tolerant methods and their applicability to hardware, including the development and implementation of practical decoders.
This role involves determining which quantum error correction codes, decoders and fault-tolerant strategies are best suited for neutral atom hardware by quantifying logical performance under experimental constraints. This includes collaboration with Engineering teams to develop high-performance decoders and implement them in hardware. We are looking for candidates to actively engage in quantum error correction research and contribute to the wider research community through publication, while also engaging with real devices in collaboration with our Control Systems, Engineering and Software teams to realise the potential of fault-tolerant neutral atom quantum computers.
Responsibilities
Perform numerical simulations to assess and compare the performance of state-of-the-art designs for quantum architectures.
Develop practical decoders and work together with other teams to implement them in hardware, including real-time or low-latency decoding.
Develop and maintain software tools for the performance analysis of fault-tolerant protocols.
Implement quantum error correction on neutral atom hardware.
